AntView logging functionality

For troubleshooting purposes a logging feature has been added.

By default the logging is disabled.

You can enable it via a registry setting under the following key:

On 32 bit machines:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Antwise Solutions\AntView

On 64 bit machines:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WOW6432Node\Antwise Solutions\AntView

If you installed Antview on your machine, then the registry setting above exists.

Add a new DWORD value with the name "LogMode" and a value 1, which then should look like:

A value of 1 equals to log level 1 and enables basic logging functionality. Most of the times that is good enough.

There are no URL, html or other personal details logged at this level.

For more detailed logging you can use value 2. At log level 2, a lot more gets logged.

This includes URL's, all the triggered events and more detailed tests are run. Obvious sensitive information such as SSL certificates are snipped from the output.

After setting the log level as above, a log file will be created under the %TEMP% folder of your system. This happens every time you run an application that uses the AntView control.

It creates a folder "AntView" with a file "AntView.log" in it.

You can find out what the %TEMP% folder is on your machine by typing %TEMP% in Windows Explorer navigation bar and press enter or from a command line "echo %TEMP%" statement.

During support inquiries we might ask for this log file.
